In Lumous Forest Hut, you spend the night surrounded by beutiful Finnish nature, in a cozy nest of your own. Covered by a warm blanket, through a large panorama window, you can admire breath-taking views of the surrounding pine forest and clear-watered Haukilampi lake in front of you. In winter, all this is decorated with a calm, white coverage. This is the starting and return point for your advertures in a Finnish nature. From here, you can easily leave for hiking trips - independently or with a guide of Luontovire, however you prefer - and here you will return to calm down after an active outdoor day. In the sweet warmth of an authentic Finnish lakeside sauna, you can relax your tired muscles after your adventures. Supper can be enjoyed in the private campfire place next to your hut while watching the calming fire. As the day turns into night, imagine closing your eyes in the soft sheets of your own nest and falling asleep while listening to the birds singing outdoors.
Lumous is a brand new Forest Hut located in Hankasalmi, Central Finland. Surrounded by a beautiful pine forest, with a marvellous view of the lake Haukilampi, Lumous provides a unique experience of Finnish nature and the feeling of privacy. Lumous Forest Hut accommodates 2 people in twin beds, which can be moved together if preferred. The hut uses solar power, which is enough for lighting and charging mobile phones. Biofuel heater keeps you warm during the chillier seasons. The hut does not have running water. The hut has an eco-toilet (entrance from the porch), which is a dry toilet with no flush. Instead of taking a shower, you can wash yourself in a traditional way in the sauna, by heating water in a fireplace and using bucket and a scoop. Support and help is provided for heating up the sauna and preparing washing water appropriately. Using the eco-toilet is also adviced when checking in. Drinking water is provided in the hut. The facilities of the hut include bed linen, towels, basic tableware for two and basic cooking utensils. Accommodation includes supplies for evening snack and breakfast, which can be prepared in your private outdoor fireplace, and the free usage of traditional Finnish lakeside sauna. Next to the sauna, there is also an outdoor cooking shelter with gas stove and dishes which are in free use of guests. LuontoVire personnel is always there for you and happy to help with all the equipment you are not used to.
