Together with your guide, Marjo from LuontoVire, you will explore the nearby forests along natural, unmarked routes. During the walk, you can slow down, listen to the sounds of nature, and admire and discover the local landscape.
Relax and enjoy the beauty and tranquillity of the Finnish forest. After the nature walk, the experience continues by the campfire.
🔥 Finnish Campfire Dining Experience
A warm and authentic Finnish food experience in the heart of nature. After a short nature walk, enjoy a traditional meal prepared and served by the open fire, followed by dessert and traditional Finnish campfire coffee.
🧖 Finnish Sauna Experience – your sauna diploma
After the nature walk and campfire meal, it is time to discover one of Finland's most cherished traditions – the sauna.
During approximately one hour together, you will learn the different stages and traditions of a Finnish sauna: how to heat a wood-burning sauna, how to prepare the sauna and washing water, and how to enjoy the sauna in the traditional Finnish way.
As part of the experience, you will also be introduced to Finnish winter swimming and the art of the ice hole. In winter, you can experience the invigorating contrast of warm sauna heat and a refreshing dip in the cold lake through an opening in the ice.
At the end of your sauna experience, you will receive your own Finnish Sauna Diploma – a fun memory of the experience and a little piece of Finnish sauna culture to take home with you.
The sauna is for your private use. Washing is done with clean lake water heated in the sauna. There is no shower in the sauna.
At the end of the day, you can curl up in your warm bed and enjoy the changing views of nature – the midnight sun in summer or a sky full of stars during the darker seasons.
🌲 Nature all around you
In summer, we explore the forest on foot. In winter, you can use snowshoes or simply pause by the campfire and enjoy the peacefulness and silence of the winter forest.
The Lumous Dome Cabin has an eco-toilet and no running water. Solar power is used for heating and lighting. This means that nature is genuinely part of the experience.
Add-on services
Longer nature trips are available as add-on services, offering more time and activity in nature. During the snowiest part of winter, traditional Finnish forest skiing may also be available.
Additional meals and food supplies can also be arranged. Add-on services vary according to the season and available activities.
Important information in winter
During winter, the parking area is located approximately 260 metres from the accommodation because the final part of the road is steep and can be slippery. You will walk the final distance to the accommodation.
Two-Night Service Package
The two-night service package can be tailored into one seamless experience according to the guest’s wishes. For example, the sauna introduction can be provided only once, while one longer nature excursion can replace two shorter walks. Meals can also be arranged in different ways.
The value of the service package remains the same, while the content can be flexibly adapted to suit a two-night stay.
